Qriton

The Knowledge Base for
High-Risk AI.

When an answer matters, people need more than “the AI said so.” Qriton KB links answers to their sources, refuses unsupported claims, and gives teams a record they can check. It supports accountable human work; it does not make decisions or certify compliance.

Built for the decisions you have to answer for

The areas the AI Act treats as high-risk, and the reason each one ends up in front of someone asking how the answer was reached. Qriton supplies governed evidence to the accountable human; it is not an autonomous decision-maker.

Article 6(1)

Medical devices

Software that is a device, or a safety component of one, already carries a conformity assessment. The AI sitting inside it inherits that scrutiny.

Annex III

Critical infrastructure

Safety components in the management of traffic, water, gas, heating and electricity, where a wrong answer has physical consequences.

Annex III

Employment decisions

Recruitment, task allocation, promotion and termination. Decisions a candidate or an employee is entitled to have explained.

Annex III

Credit and essential services

Creditworthiness scoring, and access to public benefits and emergency services. Refusals here are contested, and get contested in writing.

Annex III

Law enforcement

Assessment of evidence, risk of offending, and profiling in the course of investigation, where the record of how a conclusion was reached matters.

Annex III

Migration and border control

Visa and asylum examination, risk assessment and identity verification, under duties of documentation and review.

Baseline RAG versus a governed knowledge layer

This comparison is about operational controls, not an unsupported blanket accuracy claim. “Baseline RAG” means the reference retrieval path in this demo, not every system built with RAG. Measure answer quality on your own corpus and evaluation set.

A receipt attached to the answer

Each answered or refused chat can carry a receipt linking it to the cited evidence. Authorized users can check that record later.

This supports review and traceability; it is not a guarantee that an answer is correct.

Grounded

Cited, or it refuses

Supported answers carry inspectable cited passages. If the evidence bar is not met, it refuses and shows the nearest sections instead of inventing one. Extractive mode returns exact source text.

Auditable

A tamper-evident receipt

Answers carry a record of their cited evidence that authorized users can check later.

Governed

Correct or remove active knowledge

Approved changes follow release controls and can be removed from active knowledge without retraining.

Provider choice

Local or explicitly connected

Run it with a local open-weight model, extractive answers, or an explicitly configured hosted provider.

What getting started looks like

No model training is required. Point it at your documents, choose the deployment model boundary, and start reviewing cited answers.

1

Point it at your documents

It prepares and indexes documents by section. No model-training step is required.

2

Ask, and get cited or refused

Supported answers link to cited passages. Below the evidence bar it refuses and shows what it considered.Refusing is the feature, not the failure.

3

Check the receipt

Answered and refused chats on an audit-enabled deployment are written to a tamper-evident chain that authorized users can verify against the deployment's audit log.The receipt shows provenance; it does not prove the answer is correct.

Questions people ask first

Is this more accurate than baseline RAG?
We do not claim a blanket accuracy advantage. Measure answer quality on your own corpus and evaluation set. Qriton KB adds governed corrections, fail-closed refusal, citations, and tamper-evident records around the answer.
Where does our data go?
Qriton KB supports fully local deployment. External model providers are optional and explicitly configured. This public demo uses the OpenAI integration for answer generation; do not submit confidential information. Answer generation can instead use a local open-weight model such as Qwen, or extractive mode with no generative model. That choice alone does not make the whole deployment local; every configured model role, connector, and network control must preserve the local boundary.
Do you train a model on our documents?
No. Documents and governed corrections remain separate from the foundation model, and the answer generator is replaceable. The managed correction source works without model training. In a deployment configured with the HLM5 explicit-slot adapter, eligible approved short facts can additionally be installed as named slots over a frozen foundation. Active corrections can be removed from active knowledge without retraining; retained audit history follows the customer's retention policy.
Who can change what it knows?
Anyone can propose a correction with evidence. Only a named reviewer can approve that correction. Approval and application are distinct stages: an accepted managed-source operation is receipted and can be rolled back, while promotion to live knowledge follows the deployment's release controls. Other administrative mutations follow the deployment's configured controls.
Does this make us AI-Act compliant?
No. It addresses one real duty, the traceability of Article 12, not the whole programme. Anyone claiming otherwise is overselling. More on certificates ›

Use a non-confidential EU-regulation question to compare baseline RAG with the governed Qriton KB path, then inspect its receipt.
